Bunton’s World Famous’ attractive interior is appointed in jewel tones, occasional exposed brick and comfortable banquettes where you can sip frozen drinks and other tipples.

When you hear boobs and beer, you think Hooters. But even that iconic paean to cleavage and canned suds gets some serious competition from this Bushwick bar and breastaurant from Iggy’s drink slinger Kristen North. Lady lumps abound at the brazen, retro-kitted dive, but hidden beneath the nip-slip kitsch is a surprisingly respectable neighborhood hangout. Tall boys reign at the bar, but two draft lines sprouting from a naked mannequin pour one light (Pacífico) and one dark (Negra Modelo) brew. On the spirits front, jugs of margaritas are heavy-handed on the tequila, so your $25 is well spent.

BKE features a brewery, tap house and a line of small batch kombucha. Other fermented brews can hit the tastebuds aggressively with carbonation and sour notes, but BKE is light. Take any of their iterations and at first sip, a variety of natural flavors dance together, while black Assam tea (chosen after Subaiya spent time immersed in the thriving culture of tea plantations in India, where Assam originates) rounds out the drink. Their beautifully balanced flavors are a result of their healthcare and heritage-inspired fermentation.

BKE Kombucha

Ask any Brooklyn queer and they're likely to tell you: This is the most wonderful time of the year. Hundreds of drag performers flock to the Knockdown Center for two days of innovative performances, outrageous looks, nasty dancing and community love. A stellar mix of local queens and global superstars comes to play, with acts like Sasha Velour, Aja, Horrorchata, Charlene, Merrie Cherry, Untitled Queen and others hitting the stage. As always, count on excellent food vendors, jewelry and gown shopping and plenty of after-parties. Serve!

Bushwig

Oddly Enough, a brand-new cocktail bar in Bed-Stuy, arrives at a time when queer spaces, and lesbian bars in particular, are sorely needed. Operators Laura Poladsky, a former employee at Eugene & Co., which formerly operated out of the space, and Caitlin Frame are going for a vibe that’s “fun, sexy, and warmly welcoming.” Here, that means booth seating, plates of tinned fish, and a cocktail list with drinks with names like Earth Baby and New Moon in Leo.

Oddly Enough

You’d have to be looking for Featherweight in order to find it. It’s right on Graham Ave., but there’s no signage except for a feather illustration on the door. Which might be why the little space feels like a members-only club. One with fancy drinks but a laid-back feel, and friendly bartenders who will make something you feel like drinking, or in our case, let you try any of the specialty liquors you’re curious about. We were here at around 8pm on a Friday, when every seat was full, and we wouldn’t be surprised if it gets slammed later on at night.

Grimm is a Brooklyn-based beer company that has a brewery in East Williamsburg with a taproom in front. The big space doesn’t seem to have air conditioning, so it can get a little warm inside when it’s hot out - but it’s a nice place for early-evening drinks if you’re in the area and want good beer.

Do or Dive offers a classic dive bar experience with a historical and vintage charm, featuring a wide selection of draft beer and a spacious outdoor area. Bushwick Country Club isn’t actually in Bushwick, and it definitely isn’t a country club. This is a little bar in Williamsburg where you can get a cheap drink and play mini golf on an objectively terrible (and tiny) course. They also have games like Connect Four and Big Buck Hunter. It’s a pretty divey place, but if that’s what you’re looking for, go for it.
